Siberian Pinion Seeds (Pinus Sibirica) - 40 pack
Siberian Pinion Seeds (Pinus Sibirica)
Pack of 40 fresh Siberian Pinion tree seeds, collected this season.
The Siberian Pinion is native to Siberia from the Ural Mountains to the east, reaching as far as the Stanovoi Mountains in the south of the Sakha Republic.
In the northern part of its range, it grows at low altitudes, typically 100-200 m, while further south, it is a mountain tree, growing at 1,000-2,400 m. It often reaches heights of 30 to 40 m high, and 1.5 m in trunk diameter. Its maximum age is 800 to 850 years.
Pinus sibirica is a popular ornamental tree in parks and large gardens where the climate is cold, such as in central Canada, producing steady, but not rapid, growth. It is very tolerant to intense winter cold, up to almost 60 °C below zero, and also to exposure to wind.
The seeds have also been collected and sold as pine nuts.
